Oh no! I have a dog that also has thunderstorm and firework anxiety.  Here are some things you can try, but first just want to mention to make sure she stays inside and is safe and secure during these times.  Loud noises such as those can spook dogs to the point where they run off and get lost.

-Turn on music or the TV to help drown out the noise.

-Purchase a "Thundershirt". A Thundershirt is a tight fitting jacket that is supposed to help comfort them during stressful situations, however, it doesn't work for every dog.

- Look into ordering calming pheromones that you can plug in to an outlet, or a calming collar like a DAP collar.

- You can try Benadryl (just give your vet a call for a dose specific to your pet's weight). Benadryl may make her drowsy but that could help take her mind off the noise.

- Fill up a Kong toy or  use another type of enrichment activity to keep her mind focused on something else. If you're on Facebook, there is a group called "Canine Enrichment." It is an excellent group and has tons of ideas to stimulate the mind.

If these things don't work, your vet can prescribe anxiety medication to use as needed for stressful events if thunderstorms are expected or fireworks around July 4th, etc.

Hope this helps!
