Hi Marcia,
Thank you for waiting!
May I ask what is the error message you are getting?
Also May I know what is the model of your HP printer?
HP deskjet F4580 wirless
My printer is showing an error message E on the screen. I have just replaced the black ink cartridge yet is shows empty. The printer will not print at all.
Ok, May I also ask how are the lights going?
which light and what are blinking or solid light indicators?
the goldish light at the bottom left is flashing
Ok,
Try removing all ink cartridges and clean the connectors on both the ink cartridges and the port where you plug it in.
Clean them with dry paper towel.
After cleaning them and putting them back in.
Turn off the printer and turn it back on and let me know how it goes.
no change - it does show a little like exclamation point or line above the black cartridge. Still won't print, still flashing gold light and an E
Did you also clean the connectors on the printer where you took the cartidge out from?
yep wiped off both of them, the cartridges and the connectors
May I ask when did this started?
probably a week ago
Try removing the black ink completely
turn the printer off and turn it back on without the black ink cartridge.
Let me know if it is the same error without the black ink in it.
as soon as I removed the blank ink it started printing
