Yes,

I am using OBD2 to clear the code.  The vehicle was towed in for a no start.  Complaint was "Vehicle quit running while driving"

We initally found a Cam sensor code for the the Lt. exhasut bank.  Swapped the senors, the code remained on the Lt. bank.  Pulled the valve cover and found the tone ring for the cam sensor is bolted to the back of the camshaft.  The bolt had backed off.  Replaced tone ring and sensor, vehicle fired and ran.  A little noisey with valvetrain noise.  Removed the Vanos soleniods and cleaned.  Replaced the exhaust vanos soleniod for the lt. side.  Fired vehicle,  nice and quite.  Engine lopes a little at idle, goes away once it is warm.

Cleared codes, ran a live date and found no action on the exhaust vanos soleniod at idle.  Plenty of action on the soleniod, once the engine is off idle.  Dont know what idiots designed this engine,  Way more complicated than it needs to be to control timing?  As long as engine is off idle, no codes are set.

Thank you for your response. Can you try this if this will work. Can you remove the negative connection on your battery and leave it for 5 minutes and then connect it back again. Then turn your ignition to on (not starting the engine) 3 times and then try to start it.

If that will not work, and since since you've already checked all the things needs to checked, can you advise them to do a “RAM Backup” activation. This might fix your issue. What this do is basically resets the sensors to the factory setup, just as if the car left the factory. Advise me what will be the result. I will leave this page open and wait for your response.

Reset battery, cycled key three times.  No change.  The vehicle on intial start up will idle for about 30 seconds, around 750 to 900.  The idle then kicks up, trips the light and returns to a normal idle.  Acts like the ECU is adjusting for a non repsonse on the vanos soleniod.

Thank you for your response. The best option we need to do now is do a “RAM Backup” activation. Ask the dealership about it. Once its done advise me what will be the result. I will leave this page open and keep me posted.
