How can I delete an event showing up under the Events tab in my running group? I can delete events that I create but not ones other people create. It is my group, and the only events that I create should be there. When other people's or organization's events are listed, it confuses my members. They expect me to be there as host, and I have nothing to do with it.

The only way to delete an event made by another person in your group since you are the admin is to delete the person entire post as well.  Another words if they made a post with an event attached to it,you will have to delete the entire post.

You will have to delete the entire post from the other person to delete the event they posted.

I deleted where he shared it on my wall, but it won't give me the option to delete the event because it's not my event.

On the old version of Facebook layout, there was an option to delete someone's event, since they new layout of Facebook has come along, that option has not been enabled as of yet.  May customers have reported this to Facebook, as of now facebook has not corrected this issue.

When I say "it won't let me delete the event," I mean, even though I've removed his post on the wall, where he shared the event, when I click the Events tab, his event is still showing up, and there is no option for me to delete it, there.
I clicked the three little dots. No option to delete. I clicked, "report" and clicked "spam," but nothing. It's still there.

The only other option is to remove that person from your group if they continue to post events.

Or try to block the person as well.

Are most of the evemts coming from the same people mutliple times?

Posted
Customer

No. Once a person does it, I turn on Post Approval.

The problem is that various people do it. The fb group, which I founded and am the only admin, has 6,000 local runners; so, all the local race directors and all the other clubs have people in the fb group, and they all want to promote their events there, but I host my own events, and I don't want to be giving these people free advertising and growing their groups.

The event posted tonight was for a run that is the same day as I have an event; so, that's the very last thing I need.

People assume any event is a club event and expect me to be there and hosting, but those events have nothing to do with me. They're just trying to take advantage of the audience of built over ten years.

Three different people have 'shared' their events on my wall in the last three days.

Click the down-arrow button in the main menu bar on your Facebook homepage.

2 Select "Privacy Settings" from the pull-down menu.

3 Click the "Manage Blocking" link in the Blocked People and Apps section.

4 Type the names of the contacts that you want to block from sending you Event notifications and invitations in the Block Event Invites section. Facebook autocompletes each name as you type it and adds the name to the block list to stop the user from sending Events.

PLease let me know if the steps below solved the problem?

That only works to prevent the next time. I blocked him, and now, the event is gone; so, immediate problem is solved. Thank you!

I had reported it as spam, but nothing happened. I didn't want to block him because it seemed mean, since he may have really not known why it was a problem, but the event didn't disappear until I blocked him.
