When I try to print my downloaded facebook photos, I get photos with large areas that are missing. This does not happen when I download and print photos that are online. I have this problem from all 3 of my laptops, so it is not a computer or a printer problem, but a facebook problem. This problem started spontaneously three days ago. It never happened before.

Also, the bar that is supposed to appear under the photo that contains the link "options" which allows one to download the highest resolution facebook permits, does not appear under my facebook photos. I use facebook solely for storing photos of my artwork (drawings) and making copies of them

Can you suggest a fix? I can email a photo of the problem that is going wrong

Instead of downloading the image from facebook, Right-click the picture you want to save and choose Save image as or Save picture as and then choose where you want to save the file and the files name. You may have to click the picture to open a larger view of that picture, then right-click the picture to save it.

The try to open the downloaded pic and see if this will print on the full page.

Google Chrome browser users

Right-click the image and select Open image in new tab. Once the new tab is created with the picture in it, you can press Ctrl+P on the keyboard to print the picture.

Just got back. I use my photo drawings to print bordered 8 1/2  x  11 bordered photos and 5 x 7 greeting cards . Its that format that for some unknown reason , I am no longer able to print as I have done for many years.

Usually the format is always at 8/12 by 11

When you print, do you use the program that came with your printer or just print from Chrome?

Posted
Customer

What I normally have done is that I go to "save image as" and the go to print. this gives me the possibility of various sizes on different size paper. Will I be able to print greeting cards?

Posted
Customer

I print from chrome

You should still be able to print gretting cards as well. When you select print from chrome. the print preview should load first and in there you can change the format of the print size.

Could you go to my facebook page " Allen Steinman" and try printing any of my drawings. There is nothing personal on my site . There are 3 Allen Steinmans . I'm the one with the drawings. How and where do I select "print from Chrome"/

Thats tis the size and I was able to print half of that page. Is there any reason that the way I have been printing from facebook stopped functioning?

Posted
Charles Totherow

Normally this is caused by windows updates in which usually every three months windows releases new updates and changes to the operating system on windows 10.

Its better to use the program that came with your printer such as canon photoviewer for greeting cards.

I downloaded, at your suggestion, the Canon software (Easy Photo Print) that came with the printer. When I bought a new laptop I neglected to reinstall it.  Problem solved. Thank you
