instagram say an email has been sent to your emaill add but it doesnt show up there. 

seems like we have to report this incident to instagram admins. there is definitely somthing wrong with your instagram account. We already allowed the account 48 hours to rest but still no capable of sending email password reset requests

did you received a text message on your phone coming from instagram

instagram needs the real owner to send the report to their admin. Please create/submit a report to their admin via this email s**t@instagram.com use your w**m@yahoo.com account in sending an appeal. tell them that you are trying to reset your instagram password but you are not getting an email password reset notification in your email. 

wait for 24-48 hours for their response and for the instructions on how you will get back to your instagram account.

the reason for linking facebook account and instagram account so that you can only post either of the platform and it will show on the other one. In terms of logging in, both accounts have separate passwords. You cannot use facebook password on your instagram account unless you make them the same password.
