Got several codes on my 2001 nissan pathfinder. P1320, P1145, P111, P0100, P0430 and P0420. Sounds like a lot but I am having problems with rough idle and from what I could learn online it sounds like the Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid Valve needs to be replaced but I thought it was odd that they both failed at once? Since P1145 and P1111 are both IVTCSV bank 1 and also bank 2. Other codes were P1320 which is for crank position sensor (which I already replaced years ago, may need cleaning?) I just wanted to know if it's something else upstream of the IVTCSV that might be causing them to both fail at once. P1320 also says it could be ignition coils that need to be replaced. Does that sound likely to be the problem which caused the IVTCSV's to both fail at once? Need to know before I order parts!the other codes were for MAF sensor and the CAT converter (which I cut off years ago, straight pipe exhaust) so I I wouldn't necessarily think about that being the drivability and rough idle issue since the other codes flashed on the diagnostic tool as well, it made me think something else was going on. Have driven with no CAT for years and straight pipe exhaust

Hello Leland

How are you doing? Before replacing all those parts that came out with the codes. I strongly suggest that you clean or replace the crank position sensor first because if it's faulty it will result to poor or rough idle. If it doesn't resolve the issue then go to the ignition coil replacement and it may resolve the issue without replacing the other parts. If you have driven it for years on straight pipe with no codes then it wouldn't be the issue. Hope this helps and I'll be standing by for your response.

Thank you and have a good one!

I cleaned the crank sensor and that did not fix the problem. I also got a code p1300. Isn't that for an ignition coil? What I looked up said it was the #1 ignition coil. Engine seems to idle okay but after driving for a while engine sounds rougher and backfires. I tested wires that went to #1 ignition coil and the wires gave me numbers on the ohm setting. I tested the ignition coil connections and they gave me no numbers at all. Does that mean the #1 ignition coil is the problem?

Good to hear back from you Leland. This is what pertains to code P1300

Possible causes
– Ignition Coil No. 1 harness is open or shorted
– Ignition Coil No. 1 circuit poor electrical connection
– Faulty Ignition Coil No. 1
– Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

It looks like you need to replace that ignition coil for at first it may run fine but will eventually run rough after reaching it's normal operating temperature. Hope this helps and I'll be standing by for your response.

Thank you
