As a result of copyright threats (PicRights.com), we wish to delete all past posts from our facebook BUSINESS PAGE. Or, convert to another page without losing followers. This is an academic page on my personal account. I am aware this can be done on a primary page, but all suggestions found on the web for business pages do not work. Thank you! VIC

The only way I believe that this can be solved is to go to the business page and you may have to delete all the postsone by one which may take several hours to complete.

Hi Charles,  Thank you.  That is all I have found as well.  That is not doable as this page is over a decade old.  Is there a more creative option?  Like, creating a new page and "carrying" the followers, etc?

You could create another page then name the page the same and then merge them together I believe without loosing followers.

This wil take some time to accomplish as well.

Customer

Thank you for the thought!  Ok, can you confirm that and provide some detailed instructions?

Posted

So bascially you just create another page to start with.  Then after you get the page all set up, there will a button called merge pages and you can merge both of these pages together

Posted
Customer

Can you confirm the posts won't follow?  Blank slate?

Posted

This takes facebook 48 hours to merge the pages together after you have created the other page as well.

Thank you.  Time is not a concern for me.  Take all the time you need.  The solution is paramount.  College page...

If your Pages can be merged, your Page followers and check-ins from profiles will be combined. Groups linked to the Page you merge will be migrated to the Page you want to keep. The Page you want to keep will remain unchanged, except for the addition of people who follow the other Page

and the posts?

The only other solution I know of is to delete the page all together then create anopther one.

This is how faceboo works.

But in this case you would loose all of the followers and have to re invite them.

That's what I was afraid of...

I can ask some of my other experts if there is another solution.  May take some time to get with you on this?

Posted

Charles, do you want to sleep on this a bit in case you think of a creative roundabout solution?  Again, I can wait.  The issue is I have a copyright troll on my tail.  Look up PicRights.com.

exactly, thank you!

OK, I want to bulk delete all posts on the page just in case PicRights  comes back at me with another extortion letter.  I would hate to involve a FB page with my school's name on it.

Charles, Thanks for staying on this.  I have an iphone.  Yes, I have tried this.  The "click all" box at the top is not there.  In which case  I would have to check each post individually.   I do appreciate your tenacity!

There should be a select all button

If you can manage to find an Android and log into your Facebook account the select all button is there on an Android phone

Posted

Maybe if you could borrow a friend's Android phone and log into your Facebook account and do it that way

Not a bad idea!  Hold that thought...
