when i setup the exchange account on the 4s iphone the message cannot connect to the server comes up, this works perfectly on my ipad which is the same level of software and worked fine on my 3gs iphone with the same version of operating system

Please note I have checked all the details and they are 100% correct I have also deleted the account and set it up again checking everything twice over the exact message is "Cannot Get Mail the connection to the server failed"

It is important to note it works perfectly on my ipad 2 with the same revision of software and in the same enviroment.

Can you please try removing the account and add it back again? Can you still connect to the internet? Kindly Reset the network settings aswell. We can do so by following these steps:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Go to General
  3. Scroll down to Reset
  4. Then tap on Reset Network Settings
