Just a sample of questions: What size of your data (limits MS-Access, SQL Server), concurrent users (performance), security (which user can do what), availibilty (24hours? - but maybe you need time to do a backup...) Recovery-Strategy (backup and stuff) front-end (MS-Windows, OS/2, Mac... or plattformindependent through a web interface) Interface to other dbs? Costs! (alternatives: may you want to consider the big guys DB2, Oracel there are not as expensive as many people think) regards dirk
