I'm assuming you are running MSDE on your workstation. In that case, you can use SQL Enterprise Manager's "Import and Export Data" tool - better know as Data Transfomation Services or DTS. Once you launch the program, the wizard should step you through the steps to transfer the database to the server. Hope this helps. Regards, Matthew Pomar

Thank-you for the quick response. I do not know if the workstation is running MSDE. I tried using the DTS on the sql server and it did not see the workstation to import any data. I can copy the data files from the workstation into a directory on the server, but was still not able to import them. What should I try next?

I would try to figure out why you cannot see the workstation. Are you running on the same physical network? What protocals are you running? What's your default library (Named Pipes, TCP/IP)? An alternative to this method is to detach the database and attach in on the server. Use SQL Server Books Online for information on these methods. Regards, Matthew Pomar

If the SQL SERVER does not see the workstation, best thing to do would be to put the name of the workstation in manually. I have this same problem, and entering the machine name in by hand is how i have resolved the issue, at least on SQL2000
