I have a 2001 Voyager. Never really any problems ever. 37, 000 miles. This year after a long winter went to start it. It started but acted like it was running on 2 cylinders. Later it would only run when the full choke was on and on 2 cylinders. What is going on?

Hi Bill,

Normally. if the engine is running on choke that means that the pilot jet is clogged up. What I usually recommend is to clean the caruberator, especially the pilot jet. You can try to spray a carb cleaner first to the carburator. If that will not work, then you have to take out the carburator and clean it thouroughly using carb cleaner and the will solve your problem.

Let me know if you have further questions.

These Carburators look to be the most difficult carburators to take off I have ever seen. The Black air box and everything surrounding them

look to be a Major Job just to get to them. Where exactly is the pilot jet? I can tell this will be a Major job to do being 4 cylinders and 4 carburators. Any other suggestions? What could have caused this just out of the blue

The pilot jets are inside the carburator. They are responsible in the fuel delivery. Sometimes spraying the carburator with carb cleaners should do the trick. If not, then the carburator needs to be removed and cleaned thoroughly. What I normally use in cleaning the carb is a premium fuel and a paint brush.

Let me know if you have further questions.

After 2 1/2 hours I finally managed to get the Carburators out ( What a pain and time consuming) now I am just waiting for the parts I ordered. New pilots Jets, some new screws for the Carburators. Had to order an impact screw driver some screws on the Carburators won't move and I finally stripped a couple of them. Called the dealer about rebuilding them for me, at $110.00 an hour labor, and $100.00 for parts, they wanted $673.00 to do the job and they wouldn't have to take the Carburators off. Must have had a one armed, one eyed man going to do the job. When I get it fixed it is history. Never had any problems ever, but I don't need any more like this. Time for a Honda.
