Was it a dead crab or a live crab? How long ago did your dog eat the crab?

If the crab was cooked, we don't have to worry about bacterial contamination. That's what generally make a dog sick. The shell can cause some scratches and abrasions in the esophagus going down, but once in the stomach, it should dissolve. The shell is make up of chitin that tends to dissolve in stomach acid. If your dog is acting normal at this time, you don't have to worry.
