I just bought a reconditioned PS3 and have been trying unsuccessfully to access the PSN Store and to updated my information for payments etc. I had a system back in Lynnwood, WA, but had to leave it behind when I lost my home. The new system accepted my sign in information, but keeps giving me errors when I try to check my other information or enter the store. What can I do about this? It shows the PS Store is under maintenance.

 I got several codes, but only managed to write down one before the system signed me out and reset itself. Error code 80710102 was the one that came up most often. The last few days tho it seems to have resolved itself.

It's OK.  By teh way the error 80710102 is a DNS error. The fix is simple.  When configuring your PS3 network (regardless of wired or wireless), use the manual option.  If you use DHCP, leave address resolution at automatic BUT CHANGE THE DNS SERVER ENTRY TO MANUAL.

The DNS addresses are:

 208.67.222.222 or/and 208.67.220.220  

Once replaced, you should have no problem logging in.

Thank you for the info. I will check it out should I have anymore issues like that. Sometimes it seems to get "stuck" and times out on connection with server, but if I redo it, it goes thru.

I entered both DNS codes as you said and when it tests it passes, but it keeps timing out when I try to sign in to PSN

I had it working great all day yesterday, but when I turned the system on this morning I had to redo it all again. This is getting to be a real pain.

 Internet provider is AT&T through my landlord. He provides us with internet so I don't have access to the modem. I have things working finally by entering both DNS codes you gave me. It has just taken awhile because sometimes it times out before the modem catches and makes a proper connection.

I hate how slow things are now. I used to have Comcast internet and was much faster, so didn't have all these issues.

I see. AT&T connection usually are the problems  when there are time outs and manual encoding of DNS is the only possible solutionto bypass this problem  since they have a different connection  server compared to Comcast.

 SINCE AT&T SEEMS TO BE THE ISSUE, I GUESS I AM STUCK UNTIL I AM ABLE TO GET MY OWN INTERNET CONNECTION INSTEAD OF THE ONE PROVIDED BY MY LANDLORD HERE. THE PROBLEM GETTING THE PLAYSTATION STORE TO SIGN IN CONTINUES AND I HAVE TO RE-ENTER EVERYTHING SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT FINALLY CLICKS INTO PLACE. I AM SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG TO RESPOND TO YOU. I HAD THE TAB OPEN ON MY LAPTOP AND IT NEVER UPDATED, SO WAS WONDERING WHY YOU HADN'T ANSWERED. I FINALLY GOT AN EMAIL TO TELL ME THAT I HAD A NEW ANSWER PROMPTING ME TO REFRESH THE PAGE.
