What regular maintenance issues should I expect such as timing belt? Is it a solid car or will I have repair issues?
Would the extra money on a used Lexus CT 200H be money well spent ?

How are you doing? There's nothing much to be done in this car but it's best that you have the service record for it for you to know when was the last oil change, spark plug replacement, etc... This car runs on timing chain so you dont need to worry bout it breaking. I believe you have a good price for it and it's a manual tranny which has lesser maintenance than an automatic vehicle. Just make sure to have a regular oil change every 5k kilometers and you'll be good.

Two questions
1 should i get mechanical coverage on a 2011 scion TC from securedrive? The dealership is offering 4 year coverage for $2,500
2 should i get diamond coat rust protection vucanized undercoating and rust inhibitor for $ 800

Good to hear back from you. Yes it's best to get the secruedrive for you need not to worry on mechanical jobs and yes the diamond coat will protect the car from rust. It may be costly but it's some assurance that we must have.

I just spoke to Automobile Protestion Association as I am a Canadian member
They feel Scion is one of the better cars for durability and warranty is unnecessary unless I want peace of mind.
Peace of Mind is not what I am after as I can afford repairs, I want to do what makes financial risk sense.
So, what is your opinion of a 2011 Scion with 80,000 km with a previous owner that took loving care of the car (I talked to him)?
What are the odds of me needing $3000 of warranty work in next 4 years ? ( I realize you cannot read a cryatal ball but I appreciate your best guess )
I think I will go with oil based rust proof spray rather than the more expensive Diamond - Coat
