Hello Tony

How are you doing? Hope you are well. As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you remove the negative battery connector of the vehicle and let it sit for 10 minutes or more before reconnecting it. I'll be standing by for your response. Let's hope that the reset works. Goodluck

I am not sure I can do that now because (i) I don't know where the battery is (In the rear somewhere? My 328 is a wagon); (ii) It's dark out there.  However, if you can terll me how to find the battery, I'll give it a try.

The battery of the car is in the trunk and you will need to remove the right side trimming to access it. Below is a video on how to access it. Please click the blue BATTERY LOCATION link below for the video.

I watched the video, which is for a different vehicle - X-Drive, which mine is not; and sedan, which mine is not.  BUT I will go out to the car and have a look right now.

If the reset doesn't do the trick, I strongly suggest that you take it to a dealership or have it checked physically by an auto electrician. Although I am suspecting a faulty BCM (body control module). The BCM controls the electrical functions in the car and if it's faulty this issue occur. Below is what it looks like

p.s. My computer has a habit of shutting down, even when set not to.  So if it does that, please re-establish contact

What is the reset?  Disconnecting the battery for 10 mins, then reconnecting it?

No Tony... I believe that's a check module not the body control module. Below is what the bcm looks like

Let's just hope that the reset does it trick to cut you the cost. It will cost $100 on ebay but can be cheaper in the yard. Is there anything else I can add or help you with Tony?
