Replacing timing belt on 2002 Toyota tundra 4.7L...the driver's side cam pulley may have slipped as I was new belt on. I've rotated the crankshaft by hand and get no resistance (plugs out). How can I confirm the cam is in correct position before buttoning up engine and trying to start engine?

Hello Mike

How are you doing? You have a 4.7 2UZ-FE V8 engine right?  I'll be standing by for your response.

Yes, that is correct.  I want to make sure the cam's are in the correct position before buttoning up and trying to start engine.  Concerned the driver's side cam pulley slipped as I was trying to install new belt.

Ok. You will need to get the TDC (top dead center) before putting on the belt Mike. On the left and right cam pulley. YOu notice that there's a line or groove in one of the spoke right?

Yes, Crankshaft was not turned with belt off,  and I've confirmed it was in TDC and lined up the cam pulley's, but as I was putting new belt on the drivers side cam pulley splipped off mark several times...I rotated it back to position with mark lining up, but may have rotated it a full rotation....not sure so just trying to find a way to confirm that it is in correct position with new belt on.

Ok good. You will just have to put it back on the markings and you'll be good Mike. I bet you're good to go. Is there anything else I can add or help you with?
