When you open the door, you will see a long piece of plastic trim there on the floor. You need to pry gently to pop that up and off. Then you need to remove the kick panel trim next to the driver's left foot. Once those are off you can now fold the carpet back. If you can not get the carpet back enough then you would need to remove the bolts securing the front seat to the floor and tip the seat into the rear so it rests on the back seat.

Hello Charles,

Thank you for getting back to me. Interestingly enough, I watched this very video shortly after buying my 2015 Toyota Avalon. Unfortunately, the video was not helpful, as it  is filmed in a Toyota Camry - not a Toyota Avalon. The design of the two cars is different.

For example, although Toyota Camry's have a convenient compartment beneath the driver's seat, through which the upper and lower mat clips may be accessed, removed and replaced.

However, my 2015 Toyota Avalon XLE/Prem/Tour/Ltd VIN: 4T1BK1EB3FU191266, does not have a similar opening in the carpet beneath the driver's seat.

So, I'm back to the drawing board.

Please provide me with instructions explaining how I may access, remove and replace the upper and lower mat clips.

Thank you for your attention. I will look forward to receiving your reply. Ed
