No problem.

Posted
Customer

so my problem is that I am putting a formula in a cell as X*(1-70%) where X is any number.

Posted
Customer

now when I drag the formula to below rows in same column, its not showing the right result.

Posted
Customer

it shows the value for the previously calculated cell. need to correct this.

I've just received your file. Could you tell me what cell are you referring to?

Posted
Customer

Go to second sheet named EMEA MPLS Option1 AS IS. Then look for O4. It has a value 930. I want to calculate it as =930*(1-70%). Then I would like to drag this formula down in the rest of the O column.

Posted

Should I change it to =930*(1-70%) and then drag the formula down in the O column?

Posted
Customer

yes try it.

Posted

I've done that and all the cells in O column are now 279.

Posted
Customer

it should not be

Posted
Mario V.

Could you please tell me what do you need to calculate in O column?

Posted

Currently, formula gives the same value in all cells because you don't have any variables. It is taking 930 and multiplying it with (1-70%). So nothing will be changed if you drag down this formula to all the cells in column O.

Posted
Customer

My need is that if it takes 930 in first cell , then in second cell it should take the next value and so on. How do we achieve this?

Posted

I understand. What values should it take? For O5, should it take the value in O4 and multiply it with (1-70%)?

Posted
Customer

it should be for O5= O5*(1-70%), O6= O6*(1-70%) AND SO ON.

Posted
Mario V.

That wouldn't work because we can't reference the same cell. But we can store the value in O5 somewhere and then use it. What should be the initial value for O5? Is it 930?

I think I accomplished something. Will send you the excel file now.
