I have a 2001 S10 with a 2.2 and automatic transmission. It will not go above 25mph. There are no DTCs stored at all. I hooked up a tech2 and manually shifted through the gears (while stationary) and it seemed to shift just fine.

Hi Matt,

This is a common issue for S10's. A clogged cat is nearest possible reason. You will experience a really sluggish getting up to speed and you will feel that the vehicle is really under powered. Either get try a new cat or hollow it out. If your exhaust isnt welded on, you can troubleshoot to see if its the exhaust by pulling your whole exhaust system off the truck and try driving it with only an open y-pipe and see if there will be any difference.

My apologies, no parts stores in my area had a cat in stock, so I had to special order one. I just got it installed last night, and it seems to be running great now. Thank you for your help.
