During the activation lock screen, It will show you a hint of the apple ID that it needs.

Yes, after the word Apple Id it says m**6@aol.com    (my email address)

Call customer and assisted in resetting the pple ID password thru iforgot.apple.com

Password changed

Activated the ipad using the new password
