I briefly reverse-connected a new battery in Kia Rio KNADE ***-***-**** 78. Now, I cannot start the engine: The starter spins fine, but the engine won't start.

Can it be told what component(s) need(s) to be replaced to enable starting? If not certain, please suggest on-site owner possibilities that might work, including analytical procedures that might allow a whole or partial answer short of having the car towed from home to the nearest Kia Dealer.

Hi Willard,

Replace the fuse, look in your fuse box to see if others are gone. Once that is done try to start the car. You should be fine. If it still does not run sometimes they have fuseable links. This looks like a thick wire connected to the battery terminal. It's basically a fuse in a wire that goes. You will need to replace the "whole wire". As with all electrical situations it can be a sticky. The fuse did its job, I doubt you did major damage.
