The lock on the Suddenlink-9465 means that you need to put a password for your Kindle Fire to connect to the internet.

The lock on the network SSID is used to protect unknown users to connect to that network without permission.

Do you know the password on your Suddenlink-9465 connection?

If you happen to know the password to this network I can provide you with the steps on how you can login to the network by setting the connection on your Kindle Fire. Please let me know and respond to me by using the blue 'Reply' button from right below this message. Thank you will be waiting for your reply.

Is it the correct password for the Network? Make sure that you are using the correct characters and numbers in the Kindle Fire when entering a password.

Tip: Tap the 123!? (bottom left of keyboard) key to enter numbers or symbols. Tap the ABC key to return to the regular keyboard. Tap the Shift key (up arrow) for uppercase letters.

I will provide you the step by step process of connecting using your Kindle Fire. Follow the steps below to complete the setup.

Connecting with Wi-Fi

To connect to Wi-Fi follow these simple steps:

  1. Tap the Quick Settings icon alt text in the top right hand corner of the Home screen.
  2. Select Wi-Fi.
  3. Ensure Wireless Networking switch is in the on position.
    alt text

A list of networks will appear. You may have to wait a moment as your Kindle detects networks in range. If your network doesn't appear tap the box next to Wireless Networking off and on to refresh the list.

  1. Tap the name of the network you wish to connect to from the list of available networks. In your Network select: Suddenlink-9465

Tip: When viewing Kindle Fire in landscape view, you may need to scroll through the list of available networks, using your finger to swipe through the list.

  2. If a lock symbol appears next to your network, it requires a password. Enter the characters of the password using the onscreen keyboard.

  3. Tap Connect.

Once you are connected to a Wi-Fi network, Kindle Fire automatically connects to it again whenever that network is in range. If more than one previously used network is in range, your Kindle Fire automatically connects to the network that was most recently used.

I hope the information given helps please let me know if you still need help. If the answer to your question was informative and helpful, please show your appreciation for my efforts by clicking the green Accept Answer button right below my first response. Thank you.

My screen doesn't look just like yours. On the Wireless screen it shows
Airplane mode Off W-Fi On. SuddenLink-9465 icon with a lock. When I tap it is shows Signal Strength excellent. Security WEP I select Connect.
It says Authentication Failed. I tried Add Network and the long WEP number and it shows "not in range".

Do you have a computer that is connected to Suddenlink-9465? If you do what is the operating system of the computer please? So I could look for possible options that we can check to be able to get a password.

Thank you. I have also noticed that you are using WEP. To be able to properly connect the device your router security to WPA
instead of using WEP. Thats the reason you might get the message out of range etc. If you want to I could properly check on the router settings if you would allow me to remotely access your computer without additional charges. This way I could check on the connection the router settings and if possible set the connection to WPA to be able to connect your Kindle please let me know so I could give you the instructions.
