Password Issues (Kindle Password)

NOTE: This steps are for Kindle models if you have a different model please let me know.

If you forget your password: To show a password hint, select the Password text box and press the 5-way controller down button. If you still cannot recall your password, you can reset your Kindle by entering resetmykindle (all lowercase) into the password field. Resetting your password will delete all content on your Kindle and you'll need to re-register your Kindle from the Settings screen before downloading items from Your Kindle Library on Amazon.com.

Another option to reset the password is to Slide and release the power switch on the top of Kindle to turn on the device or exit sleep mode.
Enter "resetmykindle" in the password field and press the enter key on the key pad. Wait several minutes while your Kindle restarts.

You will find the model of the kindle on the box or by going to settings>more>device.

Common models are Kindle Fire, Kindle Fire HD, Kindle touch etc. Please click the link below and tell me what model of kindle that you are using.

  2. Select your Model on the page on which the link above directs you.
  3. Select Kindle Password Issues under the Troubleshooting list after selecting the model
  4. You will be directed to the solution.
