Hello Pete... how are you doing? Do you notice any strange behavior in the engine? I'll be standing by for your response. Thank you
i have trouble codes
Ok Pete, do you have the list of the trouble codes?
1868 0197 2448 2449 0559 2387 1899 2359
Ok Pete... give me a bit to retrieve the codes and what must be done. Thank you
Hello Pete.. here's the fault codes description
1868 - Transmission Automatic 4-Wheel Drive Indicator (Lamp) Circuit Failure
0197 - Engine Oil Temperature Sensor signal voltage is low (high temperature).
Possible causes
- Faulty Engine Oil Temperature sensor
- Engine Oil Temperature sensor harness is open or shorted
- Engine Oil Temperature sensor circuit poor electrical connection
2448 - - AIR outlet hose leak.
- AIR outlet hose is disconnected.
For 20 seconds following a vehicle cold start, the air injection system delivers a controlled amount of outside air into the exhaust system, upstream of the catalytic converter, in order to help reduce hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide gas emissions. The P2448 code is set when the AIR system detects excessive mass air flow change with the pump on and a rich exhaust system air fuel ratio.
2449 - Secondary Air Injection System High Air Flow (Bank 2)
0559 - Brake Booster Pressure Sensor Circuit Intermittent
2387 - VGT Actuator Driver Circuit (Motor) - Mechanical system not
responding or out of adjustment
1899 - Park/Neutral Switch Stuck In Park Or In Gear
In all except AW-4 transmissions, It is easily removed.
Unbolt it from the tranny
Disconnect the wires
Install a new one by reversing the steps.
2359-low boost pressure
Charge system must be checked for leakage
Can you try to disconnect the positive battery connector and let it sit for 5 minutes before reconnecting it. Let's see if the SES light will turn off. I'll be standing by for your response.
Thank you
Relly de Jesus
this is a cummings deisel engine isb 240 in a f650 truck

Let's hope that everything will be reset after reconnection of the positive battery connector. I'll be standing by for your response. Thank you
2387 inactive vgtdriver curcit mechanical system not responding
Is there anything else that I can add up Pete?
i cleaned the egr system the control motor makes a humming noise with the key on
i had the truck scaned those were the codes that showed up
Have you tried replacing the egr valve Pete?
the valve is ok the control motor sensor makes a humming noise with the key on is that normal
what about the turbo problem code 2387
The humming will be normal Pete... regarding the 2387, I suggest that you check the following
- Check the charge-air cooler for leaks or cracks.
- Check the charge-air hoses and clamps for leaks.
- Check the charge-air piping for cracks or other damage.
checked it all apears good no leaks
Have you checked the grid heater Pete?
where is it located and what does it do
The grids are nothing more than a similar type of element you see in electric heaters, a bit heavier duty.
A diesel engine needs heat to ignite the fuel since there are no spark plugs, this heat comes from compression of air in the cylinders. At cooler temps on start up the heat from compression needs a little help, the grids provide this by heating the intake air.
I don't have an image for the F650 but the closes I can give you is coming from a Dodge with cummins engine Pete. You can use this for reference only. Please click the blue CUMMINS ENGINE link below.
I'll be standing by for your response. Thank you
grids are fine
What do you feel when you drive the truck Pete?
the truck runs rough service light comes on truck runs fine light stays on
Is it blowing white smoke in the exhaust?
no
Can you check the gear in the turbo if there's broken teeth Pete
turbo is ok
Have you fixed the other codes Pete? aside from 2387
i need help on proceders to make repairs for all codes
I see... I was just thinking about all this codes popping out at the same time. There are times that this is cause by a failing ECM. Though it can communicate with the sensors but there are times that it will fail. It's just a possibility Pete
thanks for your help
