I created an event and the event's venue simultaneously (we just set up social media presence). On most event pages I see, there's a nice collage of images at the bottom of the page. On mine there is nothing below the "About the Venue" section- please help me to get "Photos at..." to show up!

Okay, Let me check first that photos you're saying on other events.

Stay on this page and Hang on

Customer

Sounds good. Should be at the very bottom of the event page as "Photos at *venue*" and be a collection of photos tagged at the venue's location.

Okay I see that, these are photos tagged with the name of the venue you use.

You're saying no photos under that?

Can you share the name of the venue you have on your event?

Posted
Customer

Sure- here is my venue: https://www.facebook.com/KetchumArtAntiqueShow/

and here is my event: https://www.facebook.com/events/ ***-***-**** 55538/

Hi Jeff,

Hi Ferdinand- how's it looking?

Upon Checking the venue "KetchumArtAntiqueShow" does not have enough TAG by online facebook users. that's why Facebook cannot pick up photos online about it.

These is how the set of picture you're seeing from other events works.

Let's say i took a photo, and upload it to facebook, I can put a location tag in a photo like this:

Now After i post it it will normally show like

These photos all over Facebook that people tagged with where the photos are taken are the photos that Facebook will collect and put up under your event venue post.

I understand. Can you tell me how many users need to tag a photo and post for the images to show up?

I'm not sure about an exact number, But it has to be alot and the photos needs to be there long enough that Facebook Team were able to check the photos and approved it for stream. There is no Clear guideline how many and if it should be from multiple user or just one just with multiple photos tagged.

Photos in Facebook when uploaded does not get screened yet and not yet added to the stream.

Same Reason why photos with explicit content do get posted and be removed few hours sometimes days from the time it was posted.

Hmmm, any way to prompt facebook to review the photos? I would really like to have photos on the event page before I start to promote it.

Is the venue your's?

Yes

If you have lots of photos regarding your venue, I would suggest upload it to facebook and tag the location to yur venue,

If your facebook has lots of photos already uploaded to them try to tag them to the location as well.

Maybe wait until 24 hours and check it again. Because normally photos get streamed permanently within 24hours.

If not then it really has to be lots of photos from multiple users tagged with the location.

Posted
Customer

Ok, I'll try it. Could you please explain a little more about what you mean by "photos get streamed permanently within 24hours"

Let say for example I posted a photo just now. and that photo is somehow against facebook rules.

That photo is still going to get posted publicly. but it is still not reviewed.

Within 24 hours that photo will definitely be reviewed and gets either taken down by Facebook or Facebook will allow it "streamed"

Posted
Customer

Ok, so if I can find let's say 25 photos of my event and post and tag them. After I wait 24 hours that may be enough for Facebook to show the "Photos at..." section on my event? Would you suggest more photos than that? Is there a certain number I should try to post?

Posted
Customer

Another question for you- does it matter if I post the photos as a) the page b) the event or c) my personal profile? Should I do a mix of all three?

Facebook, did not give any number or or explanation on this matter.

As a matter of fact they dont even have an explanation anywhere about that part where the photos gets posted and get collectively shown under an event.

All I can assure you is how it works.

If the photos did not show up. after 24 hours then I'm afraid to say you will need to let this one pas and try to build the location through Facebook so it gets tagged automatically by Facebook like the others.

About your other question.

Any of your photos, just lick on the suggest location button and star typing Ketchum Art & Antique Show it will show up and you just need to click on the sugestion.

Customer

Could you please elaborate on "try to build the location through Facebook so it gets tagged automatically by Facebook like the others?" I'm not sure what you mean.

Try to build the location. I meant You will need to post a lot of photos and tag it with the location "Ketchum Art & Antique Show"

This will build up the Location's popularity. What I'm seeing here is that the page Ketchum Art & Antique Show does not normally get tagged as location either by you or by other people, this is a reason why Facebook cannot find any photo that it can link to Ketchum Art & Antique Show s a location.

Try tagging your photos and wait 24 hours. If this still does not work, Im afraid that the page Ketchum Art & Antique Show is not yet ready to have the feature you're looking for and you will need to make the page somehow populare by posting photos and tagging it's location.

Do you have other questions I can assist?

Posted
Customer

One other question- can I tag a photo at the location that was taken before the location was created on Facebook? For example, if someone took a photo at the location last year and posted it, can I or they go back and tag the location on the photo?

Posted
Ferdinand Aquino
Facebook Expert

Yes They can even edit a photo that was taken long ago and was tagged differently. they can edit the photo and tagged it accordingly.

Posted
Customer

Ok, but they have to tag it, I cannot tag it for them correct?

Posted
Ferdinand Aquino
Facebook Expert

Yes Since they are the one who uploaded it, Only they can tag it or make any changes on that photo
