Hi Raja,

Please press and hold the power button of your Garmin for 10-15 seconds to restart the unit. After rebooting check if the issue is fixed.

Let me know what happen. Thanks

The unit does NOT shut down, it just slowly scrolls 'system' in small letters on top 1/4 of the screen above the GARMIN logo.

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you....

What happen when you press and hold the power button?

Posted
Customer

After about 10 seconds of holding the power button down, it goes 'blink' (blank) for about 1/2 second, and then reverts back to the GARMIN logo in the center of the screen with 'system' scrolling on top 1/4 of the screen.

And still wont respond to touch is that correct?

Posted
Customer

I finally had a chance to just sit and look at the unit....even without touching the power button, as it scrolls 'system', occasionally it shows LOADING, goes blank and reverts back.

NO response to the touch either....

Thanks for your response. It seem this is more of a hardware issue and requires repair/part replacement. How old is your unit? Is it less than a Year or more than a year?

Posted
Customer

Its more than a year old, out of warranty. How does one estimate the $ for hardware repair issue?

For 2797LMT the repair rate is around $110.

  • Prices include complete factory overhaul to new required specifications and domestic ground shipment back to you.
