It is a long story, first I had trouble with the old chest strap then you you supplied me with one of the new straps, which I am sorry to say I never got to work (I put a new battery in) so I was using the unit with out a strap and it was working OK on all the screens except of course bpm, but now it seems to to be not working at all. It starts up and shows the screens but no output on them

Thank you for your response. Can you try to reset the device. Please follow the steps provided below.

  1. Start with the device powered off.
  2. Press and hold Page/Menu, Start/Stop and Power at the same time
  3. When the word “Garmin” disappears, release the buttons.

Then you need to do the inital set up again. Please advise me if this will resolve your issue. I will be standing by for your response.

It would seem that I have movement but not on hrm screen

Try to remove the battery and power it on again after 2 minutes. Try to power it on outside your house with the clear view of the sky then advise me what will be the result. If still the same perform the master reset again and just stay outside the house when you set it up again. I will be standing by for the result.

Sorry, but I could nnot remove the back of the unit to get to the battery. Thanks for your help but I think it needs to go back to Garmin for refurbishment. End
