Dear Bill, It was a pleasure helping you with your Chrome issue today. Here is a summary of the resolution.
Issue identified :

Chrome and Firefox will not open Website and all goes to DNS error

Solution Implemented :

Remote Access

Customer mentioned he did few steps to try to resolve the issue himself.

Reverted few changes back to original Windows default settings as follows

IPV6 - Switched to disbled

IPV4 - Switched to Automatically obtain DNS

Performed a DNS fulsh through command prompt

Open Command prompt > Typed in ipconfig /flushDNS and did not fix the problem.

Finally I tried resetting the WINSock by

Going into Command prompt and typing "netsh winsock reset"

Followed by a WIndows Restart and that fixed the problem.

Issue resolved

Chrome and firefox are freely browsing to any website.
