Hello Tom

How are you doing? Hope you are well. May I ask where the RPM sits when you are running 110 km/h. I'll be standing by for your response.

Thank you

Hi Tom

How are you? Hope you are well. Is there any history of transmission overhaul? I am suspecting that the clutch plates/bands can be slipping or the torque converter is not giving enough power to the transmission that's why it won't pass 110 km/h. If the torque converter or clutch plates/bands are faulty it will not show on the OBD II reader. I suggest that you replace them.

Torque Converter

Clutch Plates / bands

Hope this helps and please let me know if there's anything else I can add or help you with. I'll be standing by for your response.

Thank you

hi it is not anything to do with the transmission or torque the engine isn't overspeeding it has something to do with a govenor or a speed control that the previous owner put in it to limit the speed of there employees

Hi Tom... good to hear back from you.... I believe that theres a speed limiter installed in this truck Tom. Try to look for it under the dash or engine bay. It will look like somehow the picture below

I believe that you'll be good once the speed limiter is removed.

Good to hear back from you Tom. If I were the mechaninc here's what I would do. I will replace the ECM because the company may have put an ECM with speed limiter. There are GMC ECMs that has limiters to prevent overspeeding and serious accidents.
