I need help to get a new password for my kindle as I have forgotten it .It calls for numbers and I don't recall ever having numbers for a password.

May I know what version of kindle are you using?

Can you remove the back cover and you should see the model from there at the back. 

is that a black and white screen kindle or a colored screen kindle?

Ok. Does it have a physical keyboard below the screen?

OK. that is the screen lock passcode and theres nothing you can do to reset that passcode. But you can restore the kindle to the factory default state and set it up again after the restore so that you can use it. 

Inorder to restore the kindle you have to enter 111222777 then hit OK. The kindle will restart and restore on its own. When it booted up you will end up to the screen where you can setup it up again like when you bought it the first time.
