Hello Grant
Good to hear back from you. May you please check the crankshaft sensor as a first course of action. If it's dirty or has oil in it there will be no signal to the ECU which may cause it not to crank and make the lights in dash lit. It wil look like the picture below.
its not letting me send u the spects of van.2000transporter2.5ltpetrel
If the sensor looks good but still fails to start, the crankshaft sensor or the ECU can be at fault that's why it will not run. I suggest that you get some parts in a nearest yard to cut the cost.
I'll be standing by for your response.
thanks for geting back to me so fast.im useing fifi in cafe il just go an heve a look under van.im head down ass up for the next 10 min.back soon.G
Sure thing Grant... I'll be standing by. Good luck!
This is just a reference where the ckp sensor is located

Hello Grant
Good to hear back from you. This can be tricky, you will need to replace the crankshaft sensor if it's bad which I suspect because this van is 18 years old. Second, there are shops that resets the ECM if there's no obvious damage. But if the ECM is busted, you will need to replace it to resolve the issue. I'll be standing by for your response.
Thank you
Relly
Try calling this number ***-***-**** and look for Michael. He has good reputations in fixing ECUs. Try to call him if the crankshaft sensor replacement fails Grant. Is there anything else I can add or help you with? I'll be standing by for your response.
Thank you
Relly

The crankshaft sensor is not the same from the 97 but it may fit if you pull the harness. Example below
1997
2000
There's a possibility that it will fit if you just take the whole harness of the sensor
i cant see the sensor in the dieagrame near the crank shaft.there is no oil near that end of the moter any way.i sprayed every thing i could see.still no go.should i change the computer in the2000 van.with the 2.5lt. 97 van.
relly are you around.the cafe is shuting up for the day .ill fix the seal put the tube spacers in the sarvo.and replace computer if you say so. call me back.please.were in the world are you calling from.should i fill out the accept answer form now.
Hello Grant
The sensor should be right there somewhere. If the sensor fails I strongly suggest that you go for the computer replacement. Nothing else I can suspect of at the moment. These issues are usually a ckp sensor and computer failure.
I'll greatly appreciate if you can click on the Accept Answer button and follow the instructions on the next page. I can only make U.S. calls Grant but you can email me at d**9@yahoo.com incase you have any additional questions.
Thanks in advance
