Hi, I am actually involved in a court case where the user says they were unable to like/comment on a Facebook Business Page (I confirmed this by logging into her account), According to the settings of the Page in question, this user is not showing up in the Ban history (“Banned People and Pages”). I don't think they could have been snoozed, because I thought snoozing is only possible with Group Admin, as far as I know … IIs that true? I have checked under the Page Settings in the following areas:

  • Banned People and Pages
  • Page Management History
  • Page Activity Log Seems like a specific user being banned would show up somewhere? Any thoughts as to why it cannot be found? My question is: if the Page were to ban or even snooze this user, if it does not show up under Banned People and Pages, does that definitely mean they were never banned? Is there a way for a Page Admin to "cover their tracks" and hide or delete the history of this? Thanks for your answer.

Hello there!

If a person was muted (snoozed) it will always show up in Admin/Moderator Activity submenu.    Muting does not prevent the person from liking(or any emoji reaction).   Maybe the user never "liked" the page (or unliked the page).  If you unliked a page, you cannot comment or react to a post....

So Snoozing is possible on a Facebook Page (as opposed to a FB Group)?

If they are Snoozed they would only be able to Like (but not Comment or Post), correct?

If the user is NOT SHOWING UP in the page's ban history, is it likely they have never been banned? If they were banned, shouldn't it show up under this section (attached)? Is there any reason why it would not?ban

Carlton,

If the person is banned, it would show up on the list.  Once a person is unbanned, their name is removed from the list.

If there is no one on the list as you show on the screenshot, no one is currently banned from what I can see, and everyone should be able to react or leave a comment.

OK, so they could have easily unbanned her before the deposition.

If a user were ever banned, would the banning action appear in the Page Activity Log? I have done tests on other Pages I admin and do not see that it's shown.

Where would one find a record of a user being banned? That's really what I need to uncover.

Facebook Support doesn't seem to want to help with these questions.

What is your specific experience with Facebook? I may pay for the upgrade to do a call.

The ban history only shows those who are currently banned.  Groups does keep the admin activity log and records who kicked out who gets blocked, etc.   Pages do not.    Facebook Support is very vague and unreliable from my experience.

Ive been using Facebook myself since May 2008.

Thanks.

In summation, the only thing we will have record of in the ADMIN ACTIVITY LOG, is if the user were SNOOZED or COMMENTS WERE DELETED?

It does not show banning? Only Groups show that activity, correct? That's a weird exception, by the way.

Just to make sure I am clear.

Current Muted / Banned, it will show up there.

If comments were deleted, it will show up there.
