we were given a 99 s10 blazer for my son. It runs great except the windshield washer is messed up. If you activate the switch for the front washer, the wipers come on but not the washer pump. But when you hit the switch for the rear washer, the front washer pumps. Any thoughts on where to begin to troubleshoot?

Hi Kelly

How are you doing? Can you access the vehicle at the moment? As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you remove the negative battery connector and let it sit for 5 minutes before reconnecting it. This will reset the system and can get it back to it's normal operating state. I'll be standing by for your response.

Thank you

Hi Kelly

This is your lever switch right?

yes

Ok Kelly, thank you for that information.  This multifunction lever switch tends to fail overtime. The wirings or copper contacts can be failing that's why the washer don't work as it should. It's best to have it replaced as a first course of action Kelly. It will cost $80 atleast brand new. Much cheaper on the yard but it can be failing as well so a new one is strongly advised.

It's not that hard to replace Kelly. If you want I can send you a procedure on how to remove it.

Please send that to me. Also, why do you think it works when i push the switch to activate the rear pump? Is it all connected?
