"suggestion to unplug-----wait 1-2 min & replug didn't work. 2nd questioned, monitor speakers, was never answered. I wasted program cost + $10 tip. "

Please check if the audio cable that is connected to your monitor is properly connected. If possible to use a different cable for us to check if the problem is the internal speaker.
Regarding to the adjustment lock is it stuck on the screen of your monitor?
