fuel tank capacity on Evoque, the book says 57 lt, however using up to the empty on the fuel gauge, and down to the last 8% on the gauge, it only takes about 45lt to fill it. does this mean there is still about 10lt in the tank. if so is it usable? I live in the Northern territory and travel long distances in on go or day, and would like to have a greater range. I just returned from a trip from Darwin to Alice Springs (1,600 km each way). when I purchased it I assumed I could use all 50+ litres, which would have give better range. any ideas or solutions? thanks peter

While waiting for your response. The book actually is correct that the capacity is 57 liters and the remaining liters is reserve. Listed below will help you to have more fuel efficiency on your Land Rover.

  1. Tire Pressure: Make sure to check your tires frequently! Check your owner’s manual for proper tire pressures for your Rover and monitor your tire pressure weekly when the tires are cold. Proper tire pressure improves your fuel economy and will extend tire life.
  2. Vehicle Alignment: If your tires are wearing unevenly or cupping, an alignment can help your fuel efficiency. A properly aligned vehicle will roll down the road with less resistance and use less fuel.
  3. Air Filters: Replace dirty air filters - Rover recommends a replacement every 30k miles, and even more frequently in dry/dusty climates.
  4. Vehicle Weight: Rovers are heavy enough; don’t add extra weight unless you need it. This means roof racks, brush guards, winches and other fun accessories should be removed if you are looking to achieve better MPG. Additional accessories increase drag and reduce fuel economy. Hey, we didn’t say this would be fun.
  5. Oil: This seems obvious, but make sure to stay current on your oil changes. Oil reduces friction on moving parts and removes harmful substances from the engine. Again, engine optimization equals better fuel efficiency.

Hope this helps. Please let me know by typing "Thank you it Helps" then click on the Blue Send Response button to post your response. I will be standing by for your response.

the issue is can i keep driving when the guage says only <8% left, is there really 57lt in the tank?

The Tank capacity is actually 57. But it is not advisable that you will wait for 8% to fill it up. But what I can advise you is clean the fuel tank because there is a possibility that there are a lot of unknown elements inside the fuel tank that might cause for clogging.

at 8% it only take 45 lt? its a new car four weeks old. going to 8% i only get 600km per tank? as indicated by the guage, this is the use of the 45 lt.  idstances here mean its not always poddible to fill up sooner?  it Australia its big

I see. Thank you for the information. You can still drive when you see 8%. Because you still have reserve on your tank of 12 liters if you consume the 45 liters. The fuel consumtion also depends on the weather condition and style of your driving.

i get the driving sytle thing, it seem from what you are saying, although the guage shows a low % there will still be some left in reserve?

That is correct Peter. All Land-Rover are design to have a reserve fuel just in case of emergency so you have time to fill it up again.  :)
