Gidday. A simple query I hope, to do with sound system in Disco 4. There is a USB port under the lid of the central binnacle in the front seating. When I insert standard USBs with MP3 music files it apparently cannot read these as the screen response shows "connecting", but reverts to "insert USB". The manual says something about needing to set system to recognise MP3 files, but no details on this. Any thoughts? Many thanks. ChrisR

Ramy, I think my earlier response may not have gone out, so thanks for the quick response.  I summary the Quick Format option made the Memory Stick readable, though I have never had to do this before for any other music appliance.  Haven't checked yet if files in subdirectory album names will be readable.  MP3's are good but M4a files don't read.

All the best and many thanks.

Thank you for your response. May I know the model of your stereo head unit on your vehicle and when was the last time the MP4 works on this head unit?

Ramy, sorry but I cannot see any designation on the stereo unit to identify it.  I have never tried to play M4a files on CDs and this is the first time I have got the Memory stick to operate.  I am happy enough using MP3s now.

I see. Just in case you want to play MP4 make sure the file format is .AVI. Is there anything else I can assist you with?

Yep, I will do the acceptance response.

Although the solution seemed to be good and quick initially, it has now reverted to unsolved.  The unit will no longer connect to the USB, just as previously.  The USB stick is fine with all other readers and I have even scrapped all previous files on it and Quick Formatted it to put files on again, but no deal.  The first time, when it did work, it was a brand new USB stick, but can't keep feeding it with new USB's with no caability to add later files and still be functional.

So will stick with CDs and thanks for your thoughts.

Regards

Thank you for your response. You can try to format the usb and then make sure it is in FAT format and then when you like to play MP4 make sure it is in .avi format. Use a divX converter when you try to convert files so that it will be playable on your head unit. And also check if there is any firmware update to you dealer.
