Hi John

After replacement of the battery two smart key authentications need to take place to clear the message and to recognize the new battery voltage. This is achieved by pressing any button on the smart key twice. If the "Smart key battery low" message does not clear in the message center fit another new battery and retry. If the "Smart key battery low" message is still present please replace the smart key and bring it to the nearest dealership. They should be able to replace your key.

Can you try the steps below and let me know if it works

1) Get in and close all doors. Turn ignition on and off quickly and remove the key (all within about 5 seconds).

2) Within 30 seconds of turning the ignition off, while holding down the "unlock" button, press the "lock" button three times. Release the "unlock" button. (You may or may not get the confirmation from the door locks.)

3) Right after doing  it, quickly put the key back in the ignition and turn it on/off again to finalize.
