All of my interior lights aren't working (courtesy lamps, vanity lights, glove box, reading lamps, etc.) I have checked fuses and bulbs but haven't found any bad ones. Could it possibly have anything to do with the security systems? I may be way off but I can't find anything on trouble shooting the problem. It isn't a major emergency issue - would just like to solve it. I'm not sure how this site works as far as answers but I can be emailed at: d**1@yahoo.com or can be called or texted at ***-***-**** . Any help would be much appreciated

Hello Bob

How are you doing? As a first course of action, please try to remove the negative battery connector of the vehicle and let it sit for 5 minutes or more before reconnecting it. This should reset the car's BCM (body control module) and can get it back to it's normal operating state.

I'll be standing by for your response and goodluck!

Thank you

I'm not great on electrical Bob but when I check the relay... I usually get a new one and plug it to the slot that I suspect faulty. Please let me know of the result

Thank you for your response Bob... The BCM tends to fail on this car and sometimes it affects other electrical functions as well. The body control module or 'body computer' is a generic term for an electronic control unit responsible for monitoring and controlling various electronic accessories in a vehicle's body. This may require replacement to resolve the issue Bob. Below is what it looks like and it's location.

It is labeled number 7 on the Diagram Bob. Hope this helps and please let me know if there's anything else I can add Bob. I'll be standing by for your response.

Thank you

Hi Bob

Good to hear back from you... Last time I remember removing the BCM is through the trunk. Please open the trunk and remove the hush carpetting then you remove the rear panel. The BCM location is just at the back of the backseat. I'll be standing by and goodluck.

Hi Bob

Do you happen to have a new fuse block and relay on hand? Replacing the bcm should have resolved the issue but it's best to check the fuses and relays. Get a new fuse and relay and try to interchange it to the ones installed. Be sure that your interior light is on so that when you insert the new relay or fuse the lights will turn on. I'll be standing by.

Thank you

I guess I'll try going threw everything another time and see if it is something I've missed. Any clues you may be able to give me will hopefully help. I'll let you know what is happening----Cross your fingers
