Verizon Switch  ( Keeping your phone number and tranbsferring to a different mobile  carrier )  would require  your number to remain active and free from any other change orders during the switching process from your previous mobile carrier to be eligible because once your number successfully ports to Verizon Wireless your old provider's account will disconnect automatically.

You can try the link below  and check if your T Mobile number is eligible and will push trough with switch.

https://www.verizonwireless.com/switch-to-verizon/

Please note that you should be  must be an authorized account holder to make the switch.

  • Don't cancel your current service before switching to Verizon.
  • Have your current bill ready; Verizon will need your account number.
  • Double-check your contract with your current provider for any contract obligations you may have, like an early termination fee.
  • Have an alternate contact number for emergencies just in case your transfer takes longer than anticipated

If your existing number will not be eligible or push trough with the switch in Australia. You're only option is to get  a new number while you;re there.

No worries Robert but In order for Verizon to port  a number from another carrier it will need to be active with the current provider (TMobile) as I previously stated.

If the number is already deactivated or disconnected  by TMobile your best option is to apply  to start a new service  and in order for Verizon  to process your application  you should have a US address.
