Where did you check for wifi detection?

You should be able to see available wifi thru - Settings > Wifi or wireless

Dear John, It was a pleasure helping you with your Amazon issue today. Here is a summary of the resolution.
Issue identified :

Cannot connect Kindle to Wifi

Solution Implemented :

  • Call customer and assisted in turning off both Kindle and the wifi router
  • Try reconnecting to the Wifi Network - Wifi is now connected and Kindle library is now showing again
  • Issue resolved
