when i click the numbers. it just says connecing. but does not go through
alright. Lets to a quick reset on the base station. Go to the base station then unplug the power adapter of the base station from the wall outlet and leave it for 30 secs. Plug the adapter to the wall outlet and wait for the base station to reintialize and see if the cordless phone will connect now to the base.
is the base station the main phone
yes the main base station where the phone line is connected.

Seems like that the base station is dead and that is one reason why the handset is having hard time connection to the bae. There should be a light indicators on the base station. Can you try to plugin the power adpater to a different wall socket.

there is power becausen i can make calls from main phone. the handset is the problem. how do i solve this
this is the base station. There should be power in this base station so that the cordless phone can communicate to it.
what would tell me if it has power or not
if you can make phone calls on the main base station then that means that the base has power.
so the handset is what i am concerned about.
So you can make calls on the main phone from the base station. If that would be the case then the cordless handset might be out of sync. Try to deregister the handset and re-register it again to the base station.
Here's the steps to deregister the cordless phone.
press and hold the OFF (red button) and the # button on the handset for 5 seconds. select base unavailable and press OK. Are you sure appears. select yes and press OK. you will hear a confirmation tone. The handset will delete its own base information without trying to contact the base.

After deregistering the handset, follow this steps to re-register it.
Press the MENU soft key on the handset. Move the cursor to select by using the up down key then select REGISTER HANDSET. Press the OK soft key. On the.handset, ress and hold [#]until you hear a beep. While the handset is registering. HANDSET.REGISTERING will appear in the display.
the options i see is direct link mode and room monitor
can you place the handset to the base station and see if it will register to the base automatically.

Dear Patsy, It was a pleasure helping you with your UNiden issue today. Here is a summary of the resolution.
Issue identified : cx having problem with the uniden cordless phone
Solution Implemented : chat/called cx and provided steps to reset/deregister/re-register the handset to the base station (steps below). no go. handset wont communicate to the base station and some of the keys are not responding. told cx that the handset is defective and needs to be replace. provided cx a compatible handset and where she can order it. cx will have to decide if she will buy a new phone system or just the handset.
