I am trying to copy VHS to DVD. After holding the DVD button to see the flash, I never see the "START". Please help.

I suggest that you might try starting the DVD recording first. Then, press PLAY on the VHS portion, to start the tape playing.

What maker and model name is the recorder please?

May I have the model number of the unit you are trying to record with?

Insert VHS tape into Vcr.

Open DVD drive, place DVD blank (of the right sort! if of the wrong sort for the drive, e.g. DVD+RW for a DVD-R-only drive, it will never get any farther than this...) in the DVD drive, then close the drive, and wait for

START.
