I was making an extra copy of a recorded deposition for a court case, using an older LG cell phone that is not activated. I just use it for back up recordings of depositions. How can someone intercept my inactivated phone and prevent voices from being recorded? this happened. every time a specific person started speaking, my voice recorder did not record his voice. I have been harassed by thugs for years, and I know why my voice recorder was being somehow hacked.. How can they do this? I also noticed a person hanging around the office, ( the deposition was at nine at night in an office building..) engaged with his cell phone.

Hi Kris,

There's is no way that an android phone can be hacked and especially if there's no network signal on the phone or not activated. The only reason that I can think of why you can perform the recording is that the phone storage might be full already. You may want to start deleting some items that you dont need like pictures, music or old recordings.

Test again if you will be able to do voice recording after deleting few files on your phone.

Hi Cada...

The recording only did not record the voice of the witness.   throughout the three hour recording, all the other people were recorded, even at the very end of the recording, when the attorney stated                 "  thas the end of the deposition, thank you"...

. Only the witness's voice was not recorded... so it had to be someone listening in on the deposition .   The recording did not just stop recording, like the phone running out of memory or battery.

I just wondered if you guys were up to date  on the technology that would allow someone to remotely interfere with my phone recording the witnesses voice...

Anyway, thanks for trying, and I am surprised you think an android phone cannot be hacked..they can.. the thugs we evicted even bragged they could, I just did not believe them at the time.....  I believe them now!     scary...

I understand the whole point Sir Kris. When you say hacking, it has to be done on the internet. Since the phone is not activated, i assume theres no signal on the phone and theres no means to connect to the internet and so that hacking will not take place.

Have you tried making your own voice recording (just only you) and see if the phone can record your voice alone.

Your phone could have been hacked through bluetooth if you had bluetooth turned on as well.  Can you tell me if you leave bluetooth on all the time?

Bluetooth does not require a internet or wifi connection this is why I was suggesting bluetooth.

Also, the phonne does not have to be activated as well.

To resolve the problem,  I would recommend a factory restore on the phone.  You can store all your data on google cloudr google account.  Let, just connect the phone to wifi for a few minutes first. Let the phone sync with google, then perform factory restore and then sign back in to your google account.  Le tthe phone restore the data that was originally on it which only takes a few minutes.  Then, disconnect from wifi

If you do not wish to connect to wifi, then you can connect your phone to a computer and drap and drop all files from the phone tto your computer without ever connecting the phone to wifi.  Then just restore the phone to factory settings.
