Need some help/instructions regarding deleting a facebook private group page. Someone I know created a private group and was solely the creator and admin. They tried to delete a private group by pausing and leaving the page, which obviously didn't work. There is currently no admin or moderator. To my understanding, They need to get back in as admin, delete everyone on the page and delete the group. They can't figure out how to get back in to become admin again. Please send instructions if someone knows how they can be reinstated to delete the group.

Hi there!

If no one is moderator or admin of that group, If your friend go back to that group there should be a prompt askinf you if you are interested in becoming an admin - if you get prompted for that, accept the offer, then you can start removing people from that group, make sure youre the last one there, and then leave the group.  Then, at that time, the group will be completely deleted.   Hope this helps!

she can't get back into the group. It's a private group and no one is able to add her.

So it requires admin approval?

Customer

yes, but there is no admin or moderator.

Then the group is considered "abandoned" - since there is no moderator nor admin in the group to accept new members to the group.   How does she know that there are no admins nor moderators in the group?

The creator/admin paused the page before leaving the group and apparently she isn't able to get back in to delete this. She thoughy by leaving that the group would be deleted.

There is no admin or modirator because I am in the group and can see. This page needs to get deleted. There has to be a work around.

Only way for that to happen is your friend needs to find any member, any one, still in the group, can take over administration privileges and invite your friend back to the group.

If you're still in the group, wait until October 3rd when the group gets unpaused - see if you can become an admin or moderator - it should prompt you.  Dont leave the group.  Once the group has resumed, and you are able to get admin privileges, you would have to remove each member one by one until you are the last in the group, then you can leave group and the group will be disbanded.

So how can she get back in now if no one is able to add her in? Is that because it is paused?

It is paused.   Wait until after Oct 3 when the group unpauses.
