Runs rough, just tuned up, new coils, plugs, wires, new Throttle Position Sensor. Just barely starts now, will not accelerate. Running even rougher now at Idle, won't go above idle.

Hello Lawrence
How are you doing? May I ask the year and model of your KIA? I'll be standing by for your response.
Thank you

It's a2005 Amanti; it had overheated several weeks ago due to a radiator failure; had to nurse it off the highway due to nowhere to pull over. Towed to local garage. Several computer codes, mostly 'misfires'. Replaced radiator and the intake manifold as the plastic intake guides were broken. Replaced crankshaft sensor and Throttle Position Sensor (along with tune-up and coils/wires). Before overheating it had been running great even with 213,000 miles...
Even after being 'fixed' never ran well, now barely if at all.....undriveable....
Thanx for your help

Have'nt run compression test (yet). When I picked it up after the new Throttle Position Sensor was installed it ran generally OK, but got worse, then wouldn't start. Finally got iy to run but wouldn't accelerate over 2400 RPM; gas pedal had no effect. If the engine was ruined, I don't think it would have run well at all for a time. Can hear an 'forward' exhaust sound (maybe a bad catalytic converter??)....Have read where the electronic connector(s) at TPS or Accelerator Pedal Sensor get corroded............
Hello Lawrence
Good to hear back from you. Please do check the connectors and run a compression test if necessary. Cars running on ecu tends to run fine on the first start but when it relearns the issue will come back. Please keep me posted.
Thank you
Relly
If I end up replacing the ECU I hear that it must be 'reprogrammed' for my car. How is that done and can I do it myself?..I don't want to start taking things apart for a compression test, as it was running OK for a while; if the engine was that bad it wouldn't have run well for a time. I'm still thinking the cat converter is somehow involved.
Hello Lawrence
You can have it reprogrammed by a tuning shop near you or you may purchase a third party tuning device. For peace of mind I suggest that you replace the cat converter as well. Ill be standing by.
Thank you
Relly

I haven't been able to get to the car with the weather. I spoke to my mechanic and will probably have it towed there when the upcoming snowstorm clears up...
