Hi. As part of our first step of our troubleshooting. Lets try to do soft reset on the unit first. Unplug the power cord from the base and remove the battery of the handsets. Wait for 1 minute and replace everything. Test the issue again after performing soft reset.
Let me know the result. If the solution provided you information on how to fix/resolve/identify the problem, I request to show your appreciation for my efforts by clicking the Green ACCEPT ANSWER button right below my first response.
Hi - Tried the above - problem remains unchanged. There are 2 handsets - neither appears to ring - only get one to two rings from the base and then the call ends.
try to de-regeister the two handsets and try to re-register them to the base again.
Registering handsets
If you see a “not registered” message on a handset, you must register it
to a base before using it.
Wait until the display says Registration Complete (about 30 seconds),
then pick up the handset; press Home/FlasH.
-If you don’t hear a dial tone or the display says Registration Failed,
charge the battery completely, then try again.
If same thing will happen then the problem is already the handset.
Hi - I have already done this about 5 times and it has not fixed the problem....next?
is the answering system enabled. If yes, try to disable it and test the issue again.
It is enabled and i have tried disabling it before. Just re-tried and still have the problem. I do have a feeling it is somehow connected as initially I think the phone worked for an hour or two before we set up a message.....??
ok lets do this sequence. Disable the answering machine feature of the phone. Then de-register and re-register the handsets to from the base. Unplug the power cord from the base for 10 secs then plug in the cord back. Test the issue again.
Just did all of that - no change/same problem still there
that's weird. de-registering and re-registering the handset should fix the problem. Are the handsets in range? Go closer to the base and test the issue.
The other thing that works is when I have my mobile phone paired via bluetooth and someone rings me on the mobile - it works fine. Landline rings until answered....
yes they are in range - very close - a couple of metres away
lets try one more reset:
1) Remove the batteries from ALL handsets in the system.
2) Remove the phone cord from the main base unit AND the phone jack in the wall.
3) Remove the AC power adapter plug from the main base unit AND remove the AC adapter from the power outlet.
4) WAIT 15 minutes. This allows any "stuck" conditions in the components to clear.
5) Reconnect the batteries in all handsets.
6) Reconnect the phone cord between the main base and the phone jack in the wall.
7) Reconnect the AC power adapter plug in the main base unit and then plug the AC adapter into the wall power outlet.
8) Wait 30-60 seconds for the system to reinitialize.
9) Test each handset for proper function.
10) Test each function of the main base unit
Ok - all done and tried but no change - same problem still exists....
I see. We already did all necessary troubleshooting steps to fix the problem but looks like the handset is not responding to the solution. I am afraid you might need to contact Uniden support about this to have your unit replaced if it still under warranty. Please see uniden support number below:

Appreciate your efforts but unfortunately nothing new was suggested that had not already been tried.

do you have a regular land phone? try to use a regular landline phone and see if the phone can incoming call. Please provide me also what you are you hearing when you try to call your landline number.
Sorry not sure what you mean. The old phone has been thrown out! If when the new phone rings I can pick up on first rign it does answer and work fine. If you are the person ringing in it just drops out and goes straight to an engaged signal
sorry if the peson ringing in it drops out after the two rings...if answered by one ring it is fine/all works
Are you seeing Out of range and check base power from the base when the call drops out? Can you test it using your mobile phone and call your landline.
Thats what I have been testing on. I ring from my mobile and it says Incoming call on handset - nothing else and doesn't say call ended or anything. On the mobile it rings then says call ended so i had family test from a landline and they don't get a message but it cuts out/goes straight to engaged signal....
No out of range base power issue
do you have voice mail activated on your land line? Not with the answering machine of the phone but voicemail provided by your phoneline provider. the voice mail might be activated.
mmm - doubt it. We had answering machine before also so how do I check...
Alright try to bypass your phone system by unplugging the phone line to the base. Call your landline number once the line is unplugged from the base. You should be hearing a continuous ring once you do this process since its already unplugged from the base. If you still experiencing dropped calls then the problem is already the line itself.
The procedure above will help us gauge if the problem is the phone system or the phone line itself.
Please let me know the result.

Hi Rochelle,
Have you already tested the last procedure that i gave you?
Hi Rochelle,
Have you already tested the last procedure that i gave you?
Hi - yes I have and the line is fine and the issue still not fixed.
did you get continouos dial tone when you dial the phone number with phone cord unplugged to the base.
yes but no change to the issue when re-plugged in
if that would be the case then the problem is already the phone system. You need to contact uniden support about this. Request replacement of the unit if it is still in warranty. Although we do our best to provide you as many different options as possible, sometimes a problem may only present one possible solution.
If i were able to provide you assistance on how to fix/solve or at least detected the problem. I request to show your appreciation for my efforts by clicking the Green ACCEPT ANSWER button right below my first response.
