Alright. Thank you for the information.

Make sure that the Xbox console and the lights are green (not red lights). Make sure that cables at the back of your XBox and TV are tight and intact. Grab the remote control of your TV and change the input that you are using. For some TV the button is source button. Press source button and select AV. That should switch you tv to use AV composite cable connection and you should have the xbox dashboard infront of you.

Let me know if this helps. If I were able to provide you a helpful and informative answer, I request to show your appreciation for my efforts by clicking the Green Accept Answer button right below my first response.

The connections are all tight and I have already selected AV, that is how it always worked but now when I do it, the TV says no signal as if the xbox is not even there.
It just stopped working all of a sudden, one minute it was working, went to switch games and hasn't worked since.

Lets try to reset the Xbox. Turn off the unit and unplug the adapter from the wall. Press and hold down power button fro 15 secs then plug in the adapter back to the wall. Turn on the console and see if you have video now. If possible, try to replace the cable that you are using just to make sure. AV cable usually last 2-3 years only.

OK, Lets see if I did this right .
First I turned off the console, than I unplugged it from the wall, than I held the power button in for 15 seconds as indicated, than I plugged it backed in and turned it on.

No change, still no connection between the TV and the xbox.
Please help my kids are really upset, they were so happy to get the xbox and now it won't work !!!

How old is the xbox? Try the video reset procedure below:

-First of all you must remove all disc from your console.
-Tested with a single gamepad.
-Turn off your device.
-The turn it on using your gampad.Press and hold the Guide button until it turns on.
-While the device is booting, press and hold the Y button + right -trigger. The Xbox 360 logo will appears (keep the button pressed)
-The device will restart and you'll get the Xbox 360 logo again.
-The display settings are now reset to the defaults

If this will not work then try a different cable. HDMI cable preferred.

Let me know the result.

I bought the xbox for my kids last christmas.
Iassume by gamepad you mean the controller.
If so I think I did what you instructed and still nothing.
I have a HDMI cable that is connected to my blur ray player, tried that as well still nothing.

Do you have a different TV set? Try to plugin the xbox to a different TV set then see if you are getting the same thing.

Let me know the result.

If that we be the case then the problem is the unit already. This is a common problem with Xbox that is overheating. The actual chip that is overheating here is the scaler chip or the display chip. Normally, letting the xbox cool down for 20-30 mins should fixed the problem and you will be able to use the console again.

If the video will not go back then the problem is already the chip which is already fried out. Repair will be the next step for this problem.

Although we do our best to provide you as many different options as possible, sometimes a problem may only present one possible solution.
