I have Quicken 2012 deluxe. How do I get an update and how much is it? I see Amazon has it for $24.99. I'm not sure what route to use.

Just want to verify the issue. Are you going to update the whole program to Quicken 2014 or you are just going to update the files system of your Quicken 2012 to the latest version?

To Update your Quicken software when you download your latest financial transactions with One Step Update.

1. Select the Tools menu > One Step Update.
2. Click Update Now.
3. If an update to Quicken is available, Quicken displays a window that describes what's in the update, as well as brief instructions for downloading the update.
4. You'll need to exit Quicken to run the update program.
5. When you exit, all your work is saved, and you can resume working as soon as the update finishes.
