Hi, sorry for the delay. I have here some steps that might help.

By the way regarding the float, It would be better to clean it first before replacement. Sometimes If the dishwasher’s float becomes stuck and cannot close, then the dishwasher does not fill with fresh water. If the float is stuck in the closed position, then the dishwasher floods the kitchen

The float sits in the bottom of the dishwasher’s tub. Whether the float sits toward the front, back or middle of the dishwasher’s tub depends on the model dishwasher. The float may sit under a domed cover or it may be exposed. You must roll the bottom cage out of the dishwasher to access the float.

Once you can access the float, remove the cover if one is installed. The cover may be secured by a screw or a metal arm, or it may just snap into place over the float, requiring you to twist it and pull up to remove it. Once you remove the cover, on most dishwashers you can carefully pull up on the float to remove it from its mount. Scrub all food debris on the float, cover, mount and any other parts associated with the float, using an old toothbrush. Once you have loosened the debris, wipe it off the float with a rag or paper towel.

With the float and its various parts clean, you can reassemble the float and test it to ensure the dishwasher fills with water but does not flood. Before you put the float’s cover back in place, insert the float onto its mount, then raise and drop it several times to check its movement. If the float slides up and down without hesitation, then the float should operate correctly. If you still find that float sticks, look for and remove any obstructions impeding its movement.

Let me know if this will fix it. I hope the information given helps. If I was able to provide you the answer to your question, please show your appreciation for my efforts by clicking the green Accept Answer button right below my first response. Thank you.

Hi again sorry for the delay checked on some pictures that might help, In the float assembly it is held in with a round plastic nut accessible from the dish compartment.

alt text
Some manufacturers bolt the units from the bottom and others use a twist method to release the assembly. Try to check the bottom first if theres a round plastic nut.

alt text

Inspect the float assembly. Open the dishwasher door and remove the lower dishrack. If your dishwasher has a cover over your float assembly, remove it now. A float's cover is stationary - it does not move up and down. It will either snap in place, or be held in place with a screw.

Let me know if you have taken it out. Ill stay here for you and wait in the meantime ill check for more information.

This is just a sample of some float assembly but if inspect the float assembly on your dishwasher. Open the dishwasher door and remove the lower dishrack. If your dishwasher has a cover over your float assembly, remove it now. A float's cover is stationary - it does not move up and down. It will either snap in place, or be held in place with a screw. Check if there is a screw then remove it (could be at the bottom if not visible from the top. Use a twist method to release the assembly if it doesnt have a screw. Im still looking for a picture of your dishwashers float assembly to give me an idea. Please give me a few minutes.

Thank you for patiently waiting and I apologize for the long wait. I had to do some thorough research and also prepare an important document for you that may help you to reference the issue that you're having on the Samsung DMT800 Dishwasher. Since you've mentioned that my previous post doesn't show the posted illustration with the correct float assembly. I found out that the DMT800 has a different assembly issues and symptoms instead of going through the float. Other components might be causing this and I have the resources for below for you.

The explanation and simple steps below would explain the problems. I also created a guide for you to download on the link below that will help you determine the possible defective parts through their symptoms.

HOSE: If your Samsung dishwasher is not draining properly, check the drain hose, particularly if you receive the "SE" error. Remove any clogs from the hose and the air gap if you have one installed. The drain hose is connected to the back of your dishwasher and the water inlet valve. Disconnect the hose from both the valve and dishwasher. Use a flashlight to look inside both the air gap and the hose, and dig out any clogs with a plastic utensil. Verify that the hose is not kinked.

Pump: The pump is responsible for directing water to the drain at the base of your tub. If the pump isn't working properly, it may be clogged with debris. Disconnect the dishwasher from the power source and remove the lower rack and spray arm. Using a flashlight, completely examine the pump. Dig out any debris with a plastic utensil or toothpick. Clean the filters near the pump as well if they are dirty. If the pump is clean, see if any parts of it are broken. It's difficult to fix components on the pump, so you need to replace the entire pump.

Timer/Drain Valve: Certain Samsung models have a timer and a drain valve. The drain valve has a solenoid on the inside that opens and closes the valve. The timer tells the valve when to open. If the drain valve is stuck, clean it if it's dirty, or remove any objects blocking it. Test the solenoid with a multitester. You must replace it if you receive an open reading. The valve has a lever. This lever gets stuck if not lubricated properly. Examine the timer, and see if it's burnt out. Replace it.

Motor: While it is uncommon for your Samsung dishwasher motor to break, it may get stuck if you haven't used the dishwasher for a long time. Disconnect the dishwasher from the power source and manually turn the motor until it turns without any resistance. If the motor won't turn at all or if it's burned out or corroded, you must replace it since this component is difficult to fix.
